Terry Rey is a French masseur based in Maspalomas. Involved in well-being therapies and practicing hypnotherapy, this professional guy has created his own range of massages, adapted to men but not only. Today, he welcomes his customers in his own private massage studio in the heart of Playa del Inglés.

Terry Rey is originally from Metz, in the northeast of France. Living now in Maspalomas since 2024, he opened his own massage studio and talks to us about his career and practice.

In 2016, I took a major turn in my professional life by moving into the world of well-being, practicing hypnotherapy and other therapies aimed at helping people reconnect with themselves. Massage was already part of my practice, although at the time it remained occasional, mainly complementing the mental and emotional support I was offering.

Dreaming of a new life under the sun

When the dream of living under the sun grew stronger, it was with the full support and shared dream of my partner Nicolas — we’ve been together for 20 wonderful years — that we decided to move to the Canary Islands and start a new life here in Maspalomas. And so, on January 1st, 2024, with fireworks both in the sky and in our hearts, we landed in Gran Canaria — new year, new life !

I’ve always had this deep craving to live under the sun. Honestly, I think sunlight and brightness are absolutely essential for my mental balance. A bit unfortunate when you’re born in a region where “grey skies and rain” could basically be the town motto, right ?  For a long time, I thought maybe one day I’d settle down in Montpellier, in the south of France. But the idea of giving up everything… only to still get rained on every winter ? No, thank you !

We arrived here ready to open a brand-new chapter under the sun. However, I knew that moving to Spain would mean having to rethink my professional activity. Even though I had managed to build a solid reputation as a hypnotherapist in my region in France, continuing that work here locally would have been very complicated: hypnotherapy is a practice where language is key, and I work in French. This naturally would have limited my opportunities in an international place like Maspalomas. So I had to take a deep breath and place all my eggs in one basket: massage.

That being said, I haven’t completely left hypnotherapy behind: I continue to offer sessions via teleconsultation for my French-speaking clients, keeping this beautiful part of my journey alive. At the same time, I chose to work under the name ‘Terry Rey’ — a lighter, more international version of my real name, Thierry Reinhard. This decision was made to respect the discretion of my hypnotherapy clientele.

Very quickly, we started to find our footing again. And despite a few hurdles, everything actually fell into place pretty quickly and positively. It was like life was quietly whispering, “Yes, you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.” It’s amazing how naturally life rebuilds itself when you follow your heart.

My academic formation as a masseur

To prepare for this new job, I invested in extensive professional training at the Colibri Massage Academy in Lyon and Tara Bien-être in Nancy. There, I deepened my skills and mastered techniques such as Californian massage, Swedish massage, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Deep Tissue, and lymphatic drainage. All these rich and complementary influences helped me create my own ‘Signature Massage’, which I’ll tell you more about later.

Even though I’ve studied a wide variety of massage techniques — and I’m planning to dive into even more trainings in the future — I chose to keep my offering simple but powerful. Rather than offering a confusing menu, I created my own signature massage, available in two versions: the classic and the sensual.

Today, I feel incredibly lucky to welcome men from all over the world here in Maspalomas, sharing real and special moments through the art of massage — a beautiful balance between expertise, intuition, and human connection. And who knows — maybe soon, we’ll share one of those moments together…

Offering special and authentic massages

With my massages, I try to craft a full-body experience that takes the best parts of everything I’ve learned: the flowing Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, the gentle Californian style, the strong, grounding Swedish strokes, and the deeper work from Deep Tissue techniques. I left out lymphatic drainage — not because it’s not important, but honestly… it bores me to death ! I prefer big, wide, enveloping movements that feel like a real, human embrace.

Throughout the massage, I alternate between firm pressure and softness, between strength and tenderness, creating a rich, sensual experience that leaves you completely relaxed — the way a holiday massage should make you feel, right ?

Now, when it comes to the sensual version, it's a very pleasant way. It goes a little deeper than the classic offer: I incorporate more glute massage, work closer to erogenous zones without ever crossing the professional boundaries, and bring an even greater sense of closeness and enveloping movements. I stay in shorts, shirtless — because I am so warm when I massage — but the one on the table can be fully nude if they’re comfortable.

For me, sensuality isn’t about a quick hand job — it’s about intention. It starts the moment you step into my studio: the atmosphere, the energy, the way you’re welcomed and treated. I want every man who comes to my studio to feel valued, seen, and reconnected to his body — with both strength and gentleness. Because in a world that often makes us feel like machines, there’s something incredibly powerful about remembering you’re a living, breathing body deserving of touch, care, and respect.

Although my massages are initially designed for men, they are also open to everyone —

women, trans, non-binary people… Every soul, every body is welcome here. Because relaxation, reconnection, and well-being are things that belong to no single gender but to all of us.

A welcoming studio in the heart of Playa del Inglés

I offer my massages in my own private studio, which is completely independent from our personal living space. There’s a direct, discreet entrance, so you don’t cross through our home — it’s 100% your professional, relaxing zone from the moment you arrive.

Inside, it’s warm, cozy, and perfectly set up: a little dressing area for your clothes and personal things, your own private shower and WC, and, of course, a massage space designed to make you forget the world outside. Every corner has been thought out to make you feel safe, relaxed, and valued.

Before you even step inside, you’ll pass through a lovely small courtyard, filled with gorgeous tropical plants in pots inspired by the colors of the Majorelle Garden… a little slice of paradise to set the mood. It serves as a charming waiting area — even though, since I work by appointment only, most of my clients barely have to wait at all. But if you’re coming as a couple and taking turns for your massages, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful vibe while waiting for your friend.

Finding me is super easy: my address is available on all my social media, and I always send a WhatsApp location pin to make it even simpler. I’m located just 400 meters from the Yumbo Center, so whether you’re on foot or by car (with street parking available), you’ll find me without breaking a sweat ! Every detail, from the welcome to the final stretch, is designed to make the whole experience smooth, sensual, and unforgettable.
