Tulum Mx, a new Mexican food restaurant in Playa del Inglés (and maybe the best)

Are you a Mexican food lover ? Do you like tacos, burritos, fajitas, and tequila ? Or would you like to try them ? Tulum Mx is the place for you. A new Mexican food restaurant ideally located in the heart of Playa del Inglés, just a few minutes from the Yumbo Center. This cosy place provides probably the best mexican food in the resort, with all the well-know specialties, perfectly spicied and cooked for you on site.
Tulum Mx restaurant is the initiative of three nice guys from Colombia who opened this new place with a great desire to excel. Two brothers and a friend compose the restaurant's team, and they have many ideas for how to offer you the best atmosphere and the best Mexican cuisine in the whole area of Maspalomas.
The three partners left their native Colombia twenty years ago to come and live here, and they have many years of experience in catering and tourism, not only in the south of Gran Canaria, but also outside the island, in places as varied as the United States, mainland Spain, the Czech Republic, or Norway.
It was when the three of them were working in the magnificent seaside resort of Anfi del Mar, which belongs to the municipality of Mogan, that they decided to open a Mexican restaurant, partly because a friend of theirs had pointed out to them that there were not many in the area but also because it is a cuisine that they know well and that they like.
A restaurant called Tulum because it is the name of a paradisiacal place in Mexico. « We liked it, and it's also quite easy to pronounce and to remember. »
Finding the name of the restaurant has been quite difficult for the partners' team, and they had a hard time coming up with the right one. Finally, they chose «Tulum» thanks to the suggestion of one of the families of the two brothers because it is a paradisiacal place, beautiful to the naked eye, and a great tourist attraction today, known internationally and which makes you dream. The «MX» is in reference to «Mexico», which is the country where it is located, exactly on the Mexican Mayan shore.
The restaurant is strategically located in Playa del Inglés, on Gran Canaria Street, an important and busy avenue in the seaside resort, on the ground floor, with unobstructed views, is easily accessible, has plenty of parking nearby, and is only a few minutes' walk from the Yumbo Center. Moreover, it is a location that allows one to take advantage of the various festivals and parades that are held here in the city, such as the Carnival of Maspalomas.
Tulum Mx officially opened in December 2022. They serve traditional cuisine and typical Mexican dishes. The menu includes many specialties such as tacos, burritos, enchiladas and guacamole. Everything is homemade. Don't miss the opportunity to try their famous "Langostinos empanados" (breaded prawns) served with avocado y cheese sauce. They also have a wide range of colorful cocktails and many Mexican alcohols like beers or tequila.

Every Tuesday in Tulum Mx, you can enjoy the special « taco night » with a taco and a draft for only 3,50 €. The restaurant also offers musical evenings with Mariachis (traditional singers) every Wednesday and Saturday from 21h. A perfect opportunity to sing and listen to the best-known hits of Mexican music performed live. For those who can't eat in place, the restaurant has a take-out service, just call or go directly to the counter in the dining room to order and enjoy it.
