Dunas Map has been named the best LGBTQ tourist guide in the Canary Islands and has received a Prestige Award for 2025/2026 in the Southern Europe region, a distinction awarded by an international professional jury from UK.

The Prestige Awards recognise small and medium-sized businesses throughout Spain. The Spain Prestige Awards 2025/26 are open to all SMEs, companies, individuals, and autonom workers who provide a product or service to people or businesses in Spain and therefore can, of course, be based in other regions.
The awards recognise the important work of SMEs and celebrate their many successes and outstanding service over the year. Once the allocation of nominations is met, all businesses within that particular category are then passed to a panel of industry expert judges who will ultimately pick a winner.
"The judges reviewed the information about Dunas Map, all the accomplishments and were really impressed. What came across consistently were comments around your professionalism and how comprehensive you are in every part of the process. It’s great to see such good reviews and we are pleased to recognise your hard work."
« The judges were particularly impressed by the guides’comprehensive information about local activities in Maspalomas, from bars and restaurants to real estate and medical clinics. They admired how the app allows users to plan their trip ahead of time and stay connected with the Gran Canarian town throughout the year through a newsletter, blog, and magazine. The app’s year-round utility ensures visitors and residents alike have trusted recommendations at their fingertips. The judges also praised the new marketing and advertising agency Dunas Media, dedicated to promoting all brands, services, and products to gay communities across Europe. »
As an award winner, Dunas Map will be included in the Spain Prestige Magazine 2026. This will be available across the 40 Prestige Awards books and magazines. The content reaches out to over 30,000 readers located across the region in print and digital formats. It is also available on the official website and social media.
The Prestige Awards were launched by Osmaan Mahmood, Founder & CEO, to celebrate the businesses and individuals that consistently offer excellent products and services to local residents, ex-pats and tourist visitors alike.
The awards team conduct extensive research to identify the major cities and regions around the world with a vibrant SME community and independent scene. They believe that SME businesses are the backbone of any economy, whilst also typically reflecting the unique characteristics of its particular city or region.
With each destination having been carefully selected, Prestige readers are invited to nominate businesses that have proven to be the best in their market over the past 12 months. All shortlisted companies put forward in the Prestige Awards are asked to support their nomination with evidence of their work, positive feedback from their clients, and information on previous accreditation and recognition, as well as highlighting the most outstanding parts of their businesses.

The judging panel base their decisions upon areas such as service excellence, quality of the product/service provided, innovative practices, value, ethical or sustainable methods of working, as well as consistency in performance. The winners selected are those who can best demonstrate their strengths in these areas. All winners are featured in a celebratory awards magazine, published both digitally and in print, which is circulated to Prestige subscribers.
« Our dedicated judging team reviews each case individually and evaluates how each company has optimized its processes, products, or ideas to deliver an exceptional product or service. The team independently gathers information from various publicly available sources and then analyzes it alongside the provided supporting documentation. The research team bases its final judgement on the following criteria: service excellence, marketing and branding, industry recognition, ethical practices, and employee satisfaction. »
