February: Brutal Winter Fetish Festival

Brutal is a popular fetish, gear, and leather event born in 2023 held annually in Maspalomas during February, specifically designed for the LGBTQ+ fetish and kink community. It is a dedicated fetish week that brings together fans of leather, rubber, gear, and kink from all over Europe for a series of thematic parties, social gatherings, and boat trips.

Held every February, offering a warm winter getaway for the international fetish scene, the event centers around the Yumbo Center’s specialized fetish and cruise bars (such as Zoo Mens Bar, Cruise, Reds, or Noxon), alongside private pool parties and social events.

Brutal hosts the Mr. Rubber Gran Canaria contest, the first men's rubber fetish contest on the islands, in which they elect the representative of the Canary Islands. The event also offers introductory workshops on fetish practices. The atmosphere is high-energy, welcoming, and strictly gear-focused for its main evening events and dance parties. Originally named the Maspalomas Rubber Fest, the event was created specifically for rubber and latex enthusiasts. After three editions focused on this theme (from 2023 to 2025), the organizers decided to expand the concept to the entire fetish community (leather, sportswear, puppy, kink, etc.) and rename it Brutal for its 4th edition.

March: Bear Carnival Maspalomas

It's about a massive celebration of diversity, human rights, and freedom, featuring open-air concerts, cultural activities, and high-energy parties.

Taking place every year in early May, this event marks the official launch of Europe's summer Pride season. In recent years, Maspalomas Pride usually lasted 10 days, or even 15 for special anniversaries, but over the last two years, due to financial difficulties, the event has reduced its schedule to just one week, causing great disappointment and a certain loss of interest among attendees, even though the festival remains very popular and busy. The Grand Parade taking place in the Maspalomas streets (mainly on the Avenida de Tirajana) on the Saturday in the afternoon from 16h is the undisputed highlight of the festival. Tens of thousands of people line the streets to watch dozens of colorful floats, dancers, and sound trucks parade from Playa del Inglés down toward the Yumbo Center.

Every evening, the central plaza of the Yumbo Center transforms into a massive open-air concert venue featuring live performances, international DJs, drag shows, and tribute acts. In the daytime, the schedule includes daily pool parties at various men-only resorts, boat cruises, and beach gatherings at Kiosks 5 & 6. During the night, there is late-night clubbing on the center stage and across the Yumbo's bars and venues.

Combined with the warm weather and Pride festivities, it turns the annual Eurovision night into one of the most popular, packed open-air watch parties in the world.

It's about a massive public screening and live performance event celebrating the Eurovision Song Contest, bringing together Eurofans from all over Europe in a high-energy Pride environment. It takes place generally for 4 days, during the week following the Maspalomas Pride in May, specifically aligned with the official Eurovision semi-finales and Grand Final night.

Held at the Yumbo Center's central plaza, the event features live viewing of the contest on giant screens, accompanied by pre-shows, and drag acts. It's a extremely colorful, energetic, and joyful event. Attendees dress up in national flags, costumes, and glitter, creating an electric stadium-like atmosphere right in the heart of the Yumbo.

June: Galdar Pride

Gáldar Pride is a popular and rapidly growing LGBTQ+ festival held annually in June in the historic town of Gáldar located in the northwest region of Gran Canaria. October: Maspalomas Fetish Pride

Maspalomas Fetish Pride (formerly referred to as Maspalomas Fetish Week) is one of the largest and most established autumn events in Europe for the international fetish, leather, and kink community. It's about a dedicated 12-day-long festival bringing together fans of leather, rubber, gear, denim, puppy play, and kink in an open, sun-drenched environment.

Held annually in early October, Maspalomas Fetish Pride offers a warm autumn getaway for fetish enthusiasts before the European winter sets in. The festival dominates the lower levels of the Yumbo Center, where specialized cruise and fetish bars (such as Tom's bar, Wunderbar, Noxon, Junior, and Copacabana) host nightly themed events, dress-code parties, and darkroom socials.

The packed schedule features legendary men-only pool parties at local resorts, catamaran boat parties, excursions, gear-clad gatherings, sauna afternoons, and the annual election of Mr. Leather Gran Canaria. November: Winter Pride

Held annually in early November, it draws visitors seeking warm weather, sun, and parties before winter hits Europe. The Yumbo Main Stage is the heart of the festival. Every evening, the central square of the Yumbo Center transforms into a massive concert venue with high-production shows, tribute bands, drag acts, and international pop icons performing live for free.

The schedule features daily pool parties at men-only resorts, boat cruises, beach gatherings at Kiosks 5 & 6, and charity events. Pride Walk is the other big event attraction during Pride. November: Carnaval Alemán

Carnaval Alemán Maspalomas (German Carnival) is a unique cultural festival held in the Maspalomas Gay Beach, bringing authentic German Carnival traditions to the south of Gran Canaria. Organized by local German venue owners, it blends traditional Carnival customs from Cologne and Düsseldorf (Karneval) with the tropical setting of Maspalomas.

Held annually for just one day on November 11, it specifically celebrates the traditional start of the German Carnival season (which officially opens on November 11th at 11h11). The event takes place primarily on the Gay Beach of Maspalomas but also later in some surrounding iconic German venues like Bärenhöhle, Adonis, Wunderbar, or Spartacus.

The Carnaval Alemán stands out for gathering thousands of participants, usually dressed in cheerful and eccentric costumes. The event lasts all day on the beach, enjoying the sun, where the main activities are drinking beer, singing, and taking photos together in a casual, warm atmosphere.

Festive, lighthearted, and welcoming, this full-day celebration attracts a large crowd of resident expats; tourists from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland; as well as curious visitors enjoying the fun, costume-filled daytime and evening parties.

December: Yumbo New Year's Eve

New Year’s Eve at the Yumbo Center (Nochevieja) is one of the most vibrant and high-energy ways to ring in the New Year in Maspalomas. Don't miss this massive open-air celebration bringing together thousands of people in the heart of Playa del Inglés to count down to midnight and party until dawn.

While there are sometimes live performances and entertainment on the main central stage, it's depends on the year. Regardless of whether a stage show is scheduled, the festive energy across the complex is guaranteed. Popular Yumbo spots—such as The Square and Sixpack—bring in international guest DJs for special New Year’s Eve events, turning the plaza and surrounding bars into an unforgettable street party.

Up until midnight, the crowd is a cheerful mix of tourists, locals, and families gathered to count down the twelve strokes, eat the traditional twelve lucky grapes (uvas de la suerte), and watch fireworks light up the skies all over the city. After midnight, the atmosphere shifts as post-countdown partygoers take over the center to drink and dance into the early hours of the morning.

Note also that many venues inside and outside the Yumbo organize their own private events that evening, such as restaurant dinners, bar celebrations, or club dance nights.
