Sauna Portugal is located in Las Palmas, two blocks from Las canteras beach. It's a big and confortable place with 2 nivels, a bar cafeteria, lockers room, finnish sauna, steam bath, showers, cabins, massage, dark rooms, glory holes and sling room. It remains today the last gay sauna in Gran Canaria.
In Gran Canaria, the tradition of saunas is not very established, and there have never been many establishments on the island. In Maspalomas, there have been up to three at the same time in previous years, notably at the Yumbo Centre (Sauna Heroes), the Cita Centre (Sauna Construction), the Sandia Centre (on the roof top) and at the Nilo Centre (Sauna Nilo), but they are now all closed. In Las Palmas, the Sauna Portugal is still here, and this is the last one in Gran Canaria.
Unlike gay saunas in many major cities around the world, saunas in Gran Canaria are not open at night and close relatively early in the evening, around 23h. However, they are open every day and start early in the afternoon, from 16h.
The Sauna Portugal is the only place of its kind in the city and the oldest sauna on the island. It has been open for many years now, and has always attracted many different kinds of local (and international) men. Gay, bi, and heterosexual men come here everyday to enjoy the facilities that this place offers.
