Wojoer is a sexy fashion bodywear brand specialised in the field of underwear, beachwear, sportswear and clubwear for men who love extravagance and wear clothes a little bit tighter than regular.

The brand is proudly located in Saxony, in Germany, and managed by Claudia and Jörn Wonneberger, partners in love and in business. We met them for a nice chat, and they agreed to answer our questions.

· Tell us more about you both, could you introduce yourselves ?

We are Claudia and Jörn Wonneberger, a team since 2007 and married since 2014. Claudia studied Textile Design (B.A.) and Jörn studied Fashion Design (M.A.). In our company Claudia is the dear soul, sometimes the pure chaos, and her main areas are the maintenance of our online shop, the communication with the end customers and special requests. Jörn is the boss of the company. His main areas are brand development, communication with key accounts, production planning and wage calculations. We both develop the new patterns together.   

We always work as a team. Even though each of us works in our own area, we are usually always together in the same place, and that's how we work best. We complement each other perfectly and are (usually) of the same opinion on key issues.

· Your textile factory has a very long and special story; could you tell us more about this ?

Our company was founded in 1882. In 2014/2015, the Kutzschbachs, the generation before us, were looking for worthy successors for their traditional sewing business. We had set up our own business with our Neonon brand in 2012 and wanted to continue to grow. So we seized the opportunity and took over the sewing shop together with the seven seamstresses. 

The sewing shop already had erotic products in its range at the time. They mainly produced these on a contract basis for other well-known brands. There was also an own brand called Robinson. Perhaps insiders still know this ? We quickly realized that Robinson was not well suited for a social media world. So we founded Wojoer in 2016. We had developed a great passion for this exciting underwear fashion world right from the start.

· About Wojoer, why did you choose this name, and what is the specialty of your brand ?

The brand name Wojoer was developed in a creative team brainstorming session, in which the husband of an employee also took part via WhatsApp. During the brainstorming, many fantastic names emerged, including Wojör (pronounced like the French word 'voyeur'), derived from the initial letters Wonneberger and Jörn. Great and, in our eyes, so fitting for a men erotic fetish, lingerie and clubwear brand.   

We are a very versatile brand. We design super small items such as our cock sock pouches, mini-socks or even micro-sock-thongs up to full bodysuits, mainly in spandex, vinyl or leather likes. Also, we are keen on creating accessories and great items made of neoprene through to complete street-ready clubwear outfits. Mainly for men. But we do sometimes some partner outfits also for women. Our clothing are made for all those who are brave, want to look self-confident and are looking for something absolutely special !

· What makes Wojoer different from other sexy and fetish clothing brands, and where do you find the inspiration to create new designs and models ?

We are still young but have so many years of experience in the field of special underwear. We develop all our designs ourselves and are also very close to our customers and always have an open ear for special requests. We are constantly striving to develop further, always trying out new styles, new materials, new cuts, and sometimes we overshoot the mark. Some of our items then get the feedback: Wow, that looks great. But it doesn't sell because we are ahead of the times. We later see some of our creations at our well-known competitors. But yes, I think that's what defines us: The true love of helping people to express their special selves.

About new models and design inspiration, there are so many positive influences raining down on us every day. New ideas emerge every day. Some of our appreciated customers give us great suggestions, inputs and wishes that we are happy to consider. Inspirations also come from new fantastic materials for which new shapes are needed. Sometimes we even invent new fabrics together with near suppliers to offer real outstanding combinations of shape, comfort and look. We believe we will never run out of ideas.

· Does your brand produce other products in addition to clothing, and do you enjoy an international distribution network ?

We are both designers. Our main field of expertise is textiles. But we have actually started to create new things. For example, our strong and ergonomically shaped stainless steel cock rings. In addition, together with a leading German company, we have developed two absolutely Premium natural pleasure Fun-Sprays under the name Wowyeah. This spray is the perfect complement to our Wojoer products. It is applied to the body and favourite spots and removed from there with the tongue and mouth. The special ingredients thus develop their enchanting effects.

· What can we expect from Wojoer in the near future, and how do you see the situation of the fetish and sexy fashion field for men currently in Europe and in Germany for the next years ?

We have already talked about our Fun-Spray project. Another important milestone will be the relaunch of our fresh new online store. We have been working for months to finally have a more user-friendly appearance and to be able to offer several languages. We can hardly wait for the live date.

The third major expansion we can mention is Thailand. What does that mean exactly ? We are currently working on setting up fair and ecological production here in Thailand and are currently here for three months. To start with, we will primarily be sewing our small thongs here. Our own sewing factory in Germany will remain unaffected, and the products from both production facilities will be clearly separated and labelled. So our customers will always know if they buy a German or Thailand produced item. The aim is to be able to offer competitive products and continue to grow. We have found exactly the right place for this in the warm, open-minded and also ambitious Thailand.

The global coronavirus measures from 2020 to 2023 have had a major impact on purchasing behaviour for clothing and underwear. Europe’s well-working textile business suffered from the pandemic curfews, disrupted supply chains and recurring production stoppages. In short, both economically and politically, things have been upside down in recent years. A big number of local retail stores have gone out of business. Online giants such as Temu, Shein and Alibaba have rapidly filled the supply gaps and have nearly completely eliminated clothing production in Europe, which had previously held up well, by offering incredibly low prices.

Our chance is to listen to how the people feel and wish. People only hear bad things around them, have less money in their pockets and are insecure.
