LA BULLE Bar is no more ! The famous (gay) bar located at the Yumbo groundfloor closed its doors forever before disappearing, swallowed up by its neighbor, the Havanna Blue bar. The end of a beautiful story for many regulars and customers.

Opened in 2009, the famous bar was located on the ground floor of the Yumbo (on the East part) and was a very popular place for residents and holidaymakers of Playa del Inglés, its terrace was certainly one of the most beautiful in the Yumbo, often imitated but never equaled.
The bar closed suddenly and without notice during the first week of October and already nothing remains of the establishment, the name has been torn off, the furniture changed, and the bar is now integrated into the terrace of the Havanna Blue.
It was health problems that prompted the owner to get rid of the bar and sell it quickly. La Bulle bar was launched in 2009 by Belgian self-builder and designer Guy Chauvaux, who made it one of the most modern, elegant, and trendy spots at Yumbo. Guy was a former carpenter and he did all the decorating himself, created the layouts, placed the lighting and chose the furniture.
Unfortunately, the bar faced a tragic fate throughout its existence. Suffering from depression and progressive exhaustion, the first owner sold his bar after just 4 or 5 years, and Fred and Damien took over. But they, in turn, let go of the baby after just a few years to make way for new owners. And after that came Hervé and Albert, then Gilles and François, the last owners.
In its brief 15-year existence, La Bulle has had no fewer than four different owners, an unprecedented occurrence for a ground-floor bar at Yumbo. Typically, this type of bar never sells and remains owned by the same person for its entire life.
Barak used to be the manager of the bar fo two years in 2023-2024. For him : « La Bulle was a French-speaking bar with a French soul, where people loved to talk about their vacations over a drink. A bar that was also an institution, that everyone knew and that left its mark on the history of Yumbo. It was a meeting place for many persons, a place where we had a lot of laughs during the various parties night, and above all it was an extremely well-positioned bar. »
Today, Barak is calling for « the opening of a new French-speaking bar at the Yumbo, run by professionals, not by newcomers who don't know the business and who think that having money is enough to succeed.»
The disappearance of La Bulle bar leaves many loyal fans and customers, not to mention its employees, orphaned. No other bar resembles this one: spacious, airy, and distinguished. It will leave an eternal void in Yumbo's nightlife. Thank you to everyone who kept it alive.
